CHANELLE: MY DOG’S ONLY MAN IN MY LIFE
TROUBLED Chanelle Hayes is planning to get her life back on track by checking into The Priory clinic – and turning her back on men.
In a drunken stupor last week the blonde babe tried to kill herself with a cocktail of painkillers and wine following a bust-up with her on-off footballer boyfriend.
Thankfully, a friend found the unconscious star before it was too late and Chanelle, 21, says she is “eternally grateful” for being given a second chance at life.
The ex-Big Brother star says she plans to use it well by conquering her demons – and that means steering well clear of the opposite sex.
Cuddling up to the only man in her life – her pet chihuahua Marmite – Chanelle said: “I just seem to attract the wrong type of man, so I need a break from them to get myself sorted.
“It’s so frightening to think I could have died the other day. I was at my absolute lowest and I’m desperate not to go there again.
“I’m not the bargain bucket Britney Spears that some people might think I am.”
Chanelle’s suicide bid came on Thursday after a blazing row with Middlesbrough star Matt Bates, 22 – her on-off boyfriend since February.
According to Chanelle he turned up at her home near Wakefield, West Yorks, and they had a huge row.
She told me: “When I first met Matt he was the best boyfriend ever – so sweet, caring and thoughtful.
“I’d never been so happy as I was in the first month with him. But things became awful between us.
“I felt that he was constantly belittling me and manipulating me – picking on the things that I feel insecure about.”

Ziggy Lichman, added: “I thought, ‘What is the point in carrying on any more? I can’t make Matt – or anyone else – happy.
“I just thought it would be so much easier for everyone if I’m not here.”
Chanelle, who also had to deal with the revelation that her mum was a drug addicted prostitute murdered by one of her clients, said: “When anything bad happens I just think I’ll get absolutely slaughtered.
“But there are so many people who are worse off than me. I’ve got so many issues I need to deal with.
“I’m going to get some help – definitely. I’ll do whatever it takes. I can’t just keep trying to run away from my problems.
“It’s as if I’ve been given a second chance and that means getting help and sorting myself out.”
After her intended stay in The Priory, Chanelle is also considering going on a “Bikini Boot Camp”.
She says she also needs help dealing with an eating disorder, which sees her make herself sick and not eat for days at a time.
“I need to work on getting myself healthy and be happy with me,” she vowed.
“I’m a role model for some people. Teenage girls look at me and they can’t think, ‘That’s what I’m going to do with my life’.
“The bikini boot camp, which I think is in Thailand, teaches you how to live healthily and eat well.
“And that is exactly what I need.”
