CHANELLE’S soccer star lover Matt Bates hit back at the babe last night, claiming: “She talks bollocks.”

The Middlesbrough midfielder refused to talk about the bust-up between the pair.

But he spent yesterday reassuring his parents Brian and Lesley that he was not to blame for causing Chanelle’s hospital scare.

Matt said outside the family home in Yarm, Teesside: “I know a lot of what she has been talking about is complete bollocks.

“I can’t believe she wants to make such a public issue of this. I’m keeping out of it all.Just remember there are two sides to every story, whatever bollocks she comes out with.

“And I’m keeping my side of the story private.

“If she wants to go running around mouthing off, then so be it.”

Asked if he wanted to continue a relationship with Chanelle, Matt replied: “I’m not saying anything.”

The footballer – who is out with the latest in a series of knee injuries – also refused to discuss whether the couple had been arguing in the build-up to the incident.

One Middlesbrough club employee said yesterday: “It’s a bit puzzling because we all thought he had finished with Chanelle a bit back. They could have got together again, but Matt didn’t mention a word.

“He’s a quiet lad with his head screwed on. He could have left when we got relegated and stayed in the Premier League, but he’s a loyal, local boy.

“I can’t see a situation where he would lose his rag and cause a problem.”
