INNOCENT David Calvert has been wrongly outed as child killer Jon Venables.

Hearsay led to the young dad being branded on Facebook.

The Liverpudlian is now living in fear of his life.

This is exactly why we need to know all about the Bulger killer.

Justice Secretary Jack Straw has been dithering for days.

And he’s still hiding behind the law to avoid revealing this murderer’s new identity. Saying nothing is not an option.

This furore will not go away.

With no answers forthcoming, it was inevitable that gossips would finger the wrong target.

And if the deafening silence continues, the witch-hunt will lead to other innocents.

The Government must come clean.

They have to reveal Venables to the public to end this mess.

Maybe then people like poor David Calvert will be able to sleep again.
