FATHER’S ‘MERCY MURDER’

A CRAZED dad stabbed his daughter to death to “end her suffering” after she was raped, a court heard.

Gary Fisher said he repeatedly sank a butcher’s knife into Chanelle Sasha Jones, 17, after she told him she wanted to die.

Her father, who had been separated from her mother for more than a decade at the time, denies murder.

Chanelle is said to have been suicidal after a sex beast attacked her. She had not reported the rape to police but had been treated in hospital after overdosing on drugs in 2006 and 2009.

The jury at Swansea Crown Court heard that Fisher was so upset for her, he spent weeks plotting to “end her misery”.

In August last year a hunt for the pair was launched after a woman heard them arguing in the car park of the Angel Inn, near Chanelle’s home in Cardigan, west Wales.

The 48-year-old said he had walked around to the passenger side of the car and stabbed his daughter in the heart as part of a suicide pact.

Fisher, of Solihull, West Mids, then claims to have driven around for seven hours with Chanelle’s body squashed in the passenger footwell, before smashing into a camper van.
