JO FROST: EXTREME PARENTAL GUIDANCE

ABOVE: JO FROST: Extreme Parental Guidance
9th February 2010

By Channel 4, 8pm

Best known to most of us viewers as Supernanny – yes, her of “naughty step” fame – parenting expert Jo Frost is broadening her approach in this new series.

Rather than spending the entire hour trying to discourage a specific toddler from, say, setting fire to his mum’s curtains on a regular basis, she’ll be applying her expertise to a whole range of related topics, including eating disorders, body image, the value of sleep and the way so many kids are getting hooked on computers.

One of the main topics on this opening programme is computer games, with Jo conducting an experiment to measure the effect the more violent examples can have on a child’s behaviour. Elsewhere, she meets a four-year-old whose diet has never included anything but sweets.
